Blue Water’s Aid & Development Logistics team in Billund has secured a three-year contract, with a UK-based health organisation, for air freight, sea freight and local distribution of pharmaceuticals – medicine, contraception etc. 95 percent of the shipments will go from Asian countries to Africa.

The health organisation works around the world among other things to help women and girls to have children by choice and not by chance. The organisation is among the world’s largest providers of high-quality, affordable contraception and safe abortion services.

“We are happy to be part of this programme that helps to give women and girls the power to take control of their own future. Today there are millions of women who want to use contraception but cannot, and unfortunately that number continues to grow. We are pleased to help bring out contraception products to the most remote places to help even more women and girls. The first 30 tons of pharmaceuticals by air freight have already been delivered to Uganda in Central Africa”, says Johnny Mortensen, Head of Blue Water’s Aid & Development Logistics team.
